FAQs
Do you work in English?
Yes. All sessions are in English
How do I get started?
With a free 15-minute phone call. Fill out the contact form with a little about what you're looking for, and we'll find a time to talk. There's no obligation either way — the call is there so we can both see whether working together feels right.
Do I need a diagnosis to work with you?
No. You don't need a diagnosis, a referral, or a tidy explanation of what's wrong. Self-identification is enough - additionally, I cannot provide a medical diagnosis to clients in Finland.
I think I might be trans. Can you help?
Yes. You don't need to be certain, and you don't need to arrive with a plan or a timeline. Often this work is simply having somewhere safe to think out loud, without anyone needing you to reach a particular conclusion.
Do you see clients in the US?
Yes, via telehealth, and only in the State of Georgia where I am licensed.
My Eastern Timezone working hours are 1am-8am

Are sessions covered by Kela?
No. Sessions at Hearthside Healing are not reimbursable by Kela.
How soon can I start?
There's no waitlist. Most new clients can book a consultation within 72 hours of first getting in touch.
Are you a psychotherapist?
No. In Finland, "psykoterapeutti" is a protected title held by practitioners on the Finnish Supervisory Registry, and I am not on that register. I'm a US-licensed therapist (LPC) working in Finland as a therapist and coach. This is also the reason sessions aren't reimbursable by Kela.
What is IFS?
Internal Family Systems — a way of working that treats the mind as made up of parts, each of which developed for a reason, and none of which needs to be removed. I've written more about what it is and how I work in it with clients in “Notes from the Hearth”
What does a session cost?
€100 for a 50-minute session.
Are sessions in person or online?
Both. In person in Lauttasaari, Helsinki, or online — whichever suits you better, and you can switch between them.
What are your qualifications?
Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia, USA (license #LPC017049), certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors, and a member of Psychological Practitioners Finland (PPF ry).
Do you work with autistic and ADHD adults?
Yes — it's a central part of my practice. That includes people diagnosed later in life, people currently questioning, and people who are self-identified.
What is your cancellation policy?
24 hours' notice is required if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, and missed (no-show) sessions, are charged the full session fee.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
On a limited and individual basis. If cost is a barrier to accessing therapy, just say so when we get in touch.
