Healing by the Hearth
Therapeutic work at Hearthside Healing is focused on self discovery; exploring parts, sides, and aspects of Self you have never met before.
I work from a mixture of lenses, all rooted in an affirming perspective of you as a whole, worthy, and full person. These lenses include systemic and holistic; understanding that every struggle an individual faces does not exist in a vacuum outside of oppressive and controlling systems, and we as individuals have the ability to create change within ourselves that ripples out to our communities and worlds. Sometimes work with me is deconstructing how these systems have defined and categorized you: who are you in spite of these systems?
If you could strip away all meaning, story, and narrative that your world placed upon you; who would you be? And if you wrote your story and meaning yourself; who do you get to become? What story will you write alongside the stories our societies tell us about ourselves and each other?
Therapy is person-centered, through Humanistic, Gestalt, Existentialist, and body-based perspectives, meaning that you are the expert of your life, centering your experiences as truth, and supporting you in living a full and authentic life.
As a person and a therapist. . .
I am excited beyond measure to be here. I genuinely love the work I do and I am honored to serve my communities through this path of healing and support.
I am often many things to many people, as most humans tend to be, but what matters here is how those identities show up as a therapist. As a transgender non-binary person, my experience and work is shaped by living outside of the boxes of “normal” and creating authentic paths of being.
I love the outdoors, and have found Finland to be a perfect home for playing in the trees, swimming in the endless lakes and vast sea, and recharging my soul and my body. Simultaneously, I also love all things nerdy and geeky with a special appreciation for science fiction, fantasy, and all things magical.
